Guided Tour

Learn more about the Kunsthaus extension and the architectural vision of renowned architect David Chipperfield on our guided architecture tour.

The Kunsthaus was built in 1910 at Heimplatz and has been expanded several times since. With the extension building designed by David Chipperfield, Switzerland’s largest art museum was created in 2021. The extension now brings together four key elements: art from the 1960s onward, the Merzbacher, Looser, and Bührle collections, temporary exhibitions, and a central entrance hall as an open space for experiencing art.

The expanded Kunsthaus offers access to all forms of art. It sets ever-changing accents in contemporary art and continues to develop distinctive collection focuses that make Kunsthaus Zürich unique.

The public guided tour is held in English.
